Reborn as the Vampire Prince at Server Start, I am Invincible

Chapter 53 : Come at Me Together

Chapter 53 : Come at Me Together

Come at Me TogetherWhen only a few hundred meters remained between her and the three Han Country players, Cecilia suddenly stopped in her tracks and stood motionless.

Knowing full well that the three people on the other side were coming to make trouble for her, yet walking over so straightforwardly—it was truly a bit foolish. To put it bluntly, it was as if she were just giving herself up for free.

Thinking of this, Cecilia made up her mind: in order to uphold the dignity of the host, it'd be better to wait for the three Han Country players to come over by themselves and offer up a challenge.

And, if she could get a few pieces of imported equipment from them, that would be even better.

When that happened, she would certainly be sure to thank Dragon Abyss and her Han Country friends for their "generosity".

"Why did she stop?"

The three, who had originally figured Cecilia would just walk over, were surprised when she halted far away. Hamed took the longbow from his back, squinting one eye as if aiming, and asked his two companions in confusion.

"This is an invitation. She's inviting us over,"

Dim drew a deep breath, answering calmly.

Conjurer's already small eyes narrowed further as he gave a greasy grin, showing no hint of tension about the impending battle. He urged his companions:

"Then what are we waiting for? Let's hurry over! I've heard the women of this country all like our men; maybe once she sees us, she'll surrender straight away."

"Even if that's true, she would only like the two of us, not you,"

Hamed gave conjurer a light kick and laughed as well, not taking Cecilia seriously at all.

It made sense. No matter how strong Cecilia was, she had just hit level 16 not long ago.

That man named Dragon Abyss had also said that Cecilia was definitely not a professional player in the national gaming scene. In short, she was just an ordinary player, with maybe a bit better luck and skill.

Three level 14 top-tier class experts joining hands—would they really lose to a level 16 middle-school girl?

What an absurd joke!

In every nation, professional players have an inherent sense of superiority when facing ordinary people.

But in this regard, the innately prideful yet insecure Han Country players were the most severe.

Except for their American "dad," in their hearts they looked down on everyone else, and always felt the best eSports players should only be from their own country. If another country produced a player capable of overwhelming them, it could only be due to luck—

Otherwise, it must be cheating!

After all, not every country had the same competitive spirit as the Han Country.

While the other two joked and bantered, only Dim's face remained serious, his eyes calm as a lake before a storm.

Years of close combat with top players had honed his instincts: the petite, white-dressed girl in the distance was definitely not as easy to deal with as Dragon Abyss had described.

That man was a liar—spinning all sorts of lies to belittle Cecilia, so the three of them would let their guard down and approach this sweet-looking, terrifying beast as if it were a game!

"Let's not keep her waiting. Let's go,"

Dim quietly said when his teammates finally quieted down.

The three quickened their pace toward Cecilia.

Halfway there, dim suddenly felt something and looked up at the sky, just as a dense patch of treetops overhead began to shake. A huge black shadow flashed across at breakneck speed.

"What was that? Monster?"

Hamed, equally alert, had also noticed the shadow passing overhead. He looked wide-eyed at Dim and asked.

"The data says Cecilia has a black bat pet, which was originally a world-class Boss."

The Darkwing Demon Bat was a pet Cecilia had snatched from Dragon Abyss; he remembered the incident well and, every time he recalled it, he couldn't help but want to shatter several glass ashtrays.

Such vital information was, of course, included in Cecilia's file.

However, despite Dragon Abyss's painstakingly detailed report, only Dim seemed to have read it properly; the other two had only flipped through it at best.

"We never found a way to tame Bosses, but they did. Damn it!" conjurer complained angrily.

Staring fixedly at the black shadow, dim asked, "Hamed, can you shoot it down with your arrows?"

"I can try."

Hamed raised his bow, nocked an arrow, aimed for a while, and then lowered it. "No, it's clever. It just flew into my blind spot."

"Forget it then. Let's keep moving."

They proceeded through the lush, shadowy forest, raising suspicions that there might be an ambush hidden within. But a few hundred meters was not far, and soon the three Han Country players arrived at a wide clearing in the woods—a place Cecilia had carefully chosen.

At last, they were face-to-face with the top-ranked player in the world.

How should one describe her?

She was a very beautiful girl.

Dappled sunlight filtered through the treetops onto her face. She stood perfectly straight in the center of the clearing, wearing a plain yet elegant, classic maid outfit. Her clear, light blue eyes shimmered in the sunlight, and her long, silver-white hair fell in two smooth, even streams over her flat chest.

Other than her breathtaking appearance, the first thing Dim noticed was the half-visible silver dagger hilt at her narrow waist.

He had a dagger at his own waist, too.

As expected—a fellow assassin.

Dim's spirits lifted. As the former Han server's most promising candidate for the first "Legendary" title among assassins, he was eager to see just what level the national server's legendary assassin could reach.

"You are Cecilia?"

Before Dim could speak, conjurer loudly asked in Han speech even though he knew the answer.

Cecilia's mouth twitched. She thought to herself, "What are these jerks even saying?"

Damn—she couldn't understand a word he was saying except her own name.

But that tone was still infuriating.

Cecilia considered: since she couldn't understand a word of their language, there was no hope of communication. She wondered if she should just finish off all three of these jerks directly, but just then, system Miss's voice sounded in her mind.

"System notification: Foreign players detected. Would you like to activate the [Auto-Translate] function?"

The soft blue system interface popped up in front of her, like the screen you see when choosing your language in a game, listing hundreds of languages from around the world for free switching.

This stupid game actually has a feature like this?

Cecilia was speechless for a second, but then remembered that soon, several foreign servers would merge with the national server. It made sense.

Without a translation feature, if players of different nationalities couldn't communicate, they'd have to "talk" with much simpler, more violent body language.

She selected [Han Language] in the language bar and pressed "Confirm".

Cecilia put on a businesslike smile and addressed the three Han Country players:

"So, what brings all three of you to see me?"

"You're too arrogant. We really can't stand it. We're here to teach you a lesson,"

Hamed said in a forcedly cold tone, raising his longbow and aiming at the girl in the silver twin-tails maid outfit. He was surprised at Cecilia's sudden use of perfect Han language, but tried not to show it.

"Teach me?"

Cecilia repeated the word and her smile turned even more dazzling.

"Just some little fries from southern Cao County—forget being the vassal of thousands of years—for three unknown small fries from a foreign server to stand in our wilds and talk about teaching us a lesson?"

There was a classic saying, wasn't there?

Right: put on your socks before your shoes, play humble before you play tough.

This jerk hadn't even played humble, but already wanted to play tough?

What a hilarious game.

"There are three of us and only one of you. We don't want to bully you. Hand over everything in your bag and apologize to Mr. Dragon Abyss,"

Conjurer said, stretching his thick neck and narrowing his beady eyes menacingly.

Anyone but a total fool could see that this woman was treating them like three dogs, completely dismissing them. His pride simply couldn't bear it.

"If I say no, are you going to take me on one by one?"

Cecilia's eyes dropped and she laughed lightly. "I really can't believe you'd fight me in a group of three. So you've got a sense of honor after all."

"I can tell you're strong and confident. I hear you're the best assassin in your country. I'm the best assassin in mine. I want a one-on-one to prove who's truly the world's greatest assassin,"

Dim finally spoke. His expression was serious and gaze steady as he stared directly into Cecilia's eyes, standing tall, not willing to be cowed in momentum.

"I refuse."

Dim froze at her response. The corner of his mouth twitched. He was burning with anger.

Cecilia's mouth curled in a mocking smile. Then she spoke again, this time gently and politely:

"If I fight you one by one, that's three fights. What a waste of time and so beneath me. So, the three of you should come at me together. Bring more people if you like; I don't mind."

"You dare look down on us?!"

At Cecilia's words, conjurer finally blew up, raising his blue staff and clenching his teeth in an angry growl.

Cecilia didn't answer—she just kept smiling.

Then, in full view, she slowly raised her delicate white right hand and held up a single, upright middle finger.

"Why wouldn't I dare?"
