Reborn as the Vampire Prince at Server Start, I am Invincible

Chapter 51 : Mobilization

Chapter 51 : Mobilization

MobilizationFor ordinary players, upon receiving an extremely rare reward, if they suddenly learned that many people were waiting outside the wild area to rob them of their equipment, they would inevitably feel anxious.

In such situations, the safest option was to swallow their pride, exit the game on the spot, deal with all their equipment and items, and then consider their next move.

However, none of the four people here, including Cecilia, were ordinary. Each was among the top players in the national server, even the world, fully geared, rich in combat experience, and completely unfazed by the prospect of others coming to loot them. In fact, they were all rubbing their hands in anticipation—some even eager for a chance to counter-rob.

"Roughly how many of them are there? Can you see their levels?"

Dawn's Light knew that Cecilia had a pet capable of probing the surrounding environment via ultrasound. He naturally believed her words and immediately took out all his remaining HP potions from his backpack, gulping them down one after another to restore his HP as quickly as possible in preparation for the impending battle.

Even with a level 14 priest right next to him, Dawn's Light wouldn't dare let Gu Yanxi heal him now, not even if he had the guts of ten men.

"Let me take a look."

Cecilia closed her eyes, sensed for a moment, and when she opened them again, her light blue left eye had turned into a deep, blood gem red.

At this moment, in her mind, a dense cluster of orange dots practically encircled every exit from the Mutant Jungle, with each dot representing a player. Cecilia did a quick estimate—there were over 160 people lying in wait to ambush the four of them.

Furthermore, the size of each orange dot represented that player's level and strength. Using level 14 Gu Yanxi as a yardstick, it was clear that among those 160+ people, about seventy were level 13 or 14, while the remaining ninety ranged from high to low, mostly hovering around level 10.

Upon hearing Cecilia's report, Dawn's Light and Yuewu immediately thought of the same person.

In China's online gaming scene, only one man had such terrifying cohesion—able, in such a short time, to gather nearly two hundred top gamers.

To mobilize such a force all at once was more than enough for a large-scale guild war, yet here it was, just to surround and hunt down their small group of four. One had to admit, Dragon Abyss's boldness was indeed impressive.

"Damn it, this bastard! He just doesn't know when to quit, does he?"

Dawn's Light flushed with anger and cursed loudly.

He had been deliberately avoiding open conflict with Dragon Abyss, finally enjoying a few peaceful days, thinking the last incident had blown over. Yet as expected, Dragon Abyss was vengeful as ever, relentless in his pursuit. No doubt, he had prepared long for today's encirclement.

Yuewu clearly knew more about the intelligence between these various guild teams within the country. After frowning and thinking for a few seconds, she hesitantly asked, "Their team can't possibly have that many people. They must have brought in other guilds for support. How about... we call reinforcements as well?"

This wasn't cowardice—it was that the opposing numbers were simply overwhelming, and every one of them was high-level, definitely among the top few hundred in the national server's level ranking. Numbers turn into power, and with over a hundred professional players, anyone would have to think twice about facing down such a siege.

"That would escalate to guild team versus guild team, into a full-on guild war."

As much as he didn't want to admit it, Dawn's Light knew in his heart: while Dragon Abyss's team had fallen behind at the start of Legend of Kaloran, they were once an established national powerhouse. A thin camel was still bigger than a horse. Without Cecilia backing him, even if Dawn's Light and Yuewu teamed up, they would surely lose to Dragon Abyss.

And if Dragon Abyss acted on impulse and shattered the industry's unspoken rule, launching a guild war, then every time someone logged on, it would be a brawl, people killing each other endlessly—how could anyone keep leveling up that way?

Yuewu also felt troubled after hearing this. If a war broke out in the national server, only players from foreign servers would benefit. When the servers eventually merged, they would be mocked by Japanese or Korean players. There was simply no advantage.

But exiting the game wasn't an option either. If they tried to back out now, knowing Dragon Abyss's reputation, he'd trumpet his victory across China's online gaming community, and their own teams—as they were in a golden stage of growth—could not withstand such humiliation.

Humans excel at self-deception; the higher you climb, the more cautious and timid you become.

Seeing the hesitation, the indecision of Dawn's Light and Yuewu, Cecilia's fighting spirit wavered for a moment.

Was this Dragon Abyss really so formidable, when he was nothing but garbage I'd slain with a single blow before?

Her left hand slid down to graze the flintlock pistol strapped to her thigh beneath her skirt, and soon Cecilia regained her confidence. Her panel stats, though she appeared to be merely level 15, were already beyond that of level 30, or even 40, players.

That meant her attack, defense, hp, Agility, and regeneration were all insane—she was the ultimate six-dimension swordsman in which every stat was maxed out.

Frankly, no matter if it was some rural gynecologist doctor or urban gangster special forces, faced with Cecilia as she was now, they could only kneel.

Even a level 28 D-grade world boss she could one-shot in seconds; how could some not-even-level-14s, who didn't even have a full set equipped, possibly break her defense?

She imagined what would soon play out: red-named players in multicolored gear attacking her, each being easily shot down, blue lights everywhere—equipment dropping all around.

Just picturing it, Cecilia could already see countless RMB bills waving at her.

Fight! They had to fight!

If she didn't take equipment delivered to her doorstep, she'd be wasting Dragon Abyss's kind intentions.

She swallowed quietly and restored her trademark indifferent expression, declaring righteously, "He's coming for me this time—it has nothing to do with you two. If you're afraid, you can both log off."

Though Dawn's Light and Yuewu's levels were a little higher, the enemies were at least among the national server's top few hundred, not to be underestimated—and with such numbers, they would be tough to handle.

Keeping her companions around could do more harm than good; she'd have to split the loot with them too. So Cecilia simply stated the facts, waiting for Dawn's Light and Yuewu to decide.

Who knew if the word "afraid" fired them up, but the two who had been wavering suddenly gritted their teeth and chose to stay, fighting alongside Cecilia.

As for Gu Yanxi, no need to mention it. Four versus over one hundred and sixty: if they claimed victory, it would be an epic tale, one of the most legendary battles in MMO history.

Having decided to fight, they needed a plan.

Cecilia's was simple: split into two units. She would hunt down the highest-level, most troublesome targets. The rest—all lower level, easier prey—she'd leave to Dawn's Light, Yuewu, and Gu Yanxi.

Of course, if the three of them encountered danger, they could private-message Cecilia for help, and with over 2,000 agility, she could reach them in seconds no matter the distance.

Though not perfect, given the situation's urgency, Dawn's Light and Yuewu couldn't think of anything better and agreed.

Thanks to her detailed mental three-dimensional map, it took Cecilia less than two minutes to work out the enemy distribution throughout the wild zone.

"The enemies are mainly concentrated in the north and west exits; those are heavily guarded. But the middle is much weaker. You three try to break out from the northwest. I'll go north, then west. We won't be far apart, so if you run into something you can't handle, I'll get to you quickly."

She sheathed her dagger and, looking at the rough map drawn on the ground, spoke softly.

"Alright," the others whispered, nodding slightly beside her.

Even though Gu Yanxi understood none of it, seeing the others nod, she quickly put on a show of comprehension.

"No time to lose—let's go,"

Cecilia said as she stood.

Just then, Yuewu remembered something. "Wait, ce-sis—I've got a question. If we need help, but there's no map coordinates, how will we tell you where we are?"

Cecilia didn't answer. She simply raised a finger and pointed to her dark-red-glowing left pupil.

"This entire wild area—everything is under my control."
