Chapter 598: Meta Beings (2) - Ineffable Meta Director
In that instant, Raven wrapped her arms around his neck and kissed him deeply.
The kiss was slow, intense, and full of quiet possession — her body pressing flush against his as their lips moved together, tongues brushing in a heated dance.
A low, shared hum of satisfaction escaped them both as the kiss deepened, the air around them crackling with rising energy.
When they finally separated, Ash smiled, floating slightly in the air as he held her close.
"I appreciate the gifts, my loves~" he said, his voice warm and sincere as he glanced at the women around him. His gaze lingered on Elysia for a moment. "It doesn’t feel like we will be able to shorten this evolution... so don’t wait around."
He looked at the group — Raven, Elysia, Aurora, Ellyn, Rita, Emma, Isis, Aethea, and the others — his reddish-purple eyes calm but affectionate.
"You’re all free to head into the Prime Expanse or do whatever else you want," he continued. "I know some of you are planning to give me three more gifts... but don’t mind Little Nia. Wait until we conquer the Prime Expanse. Present them all together then."
The women reacted with their usual banter, the air lightening despite the heavy moment.
Raven smiled playfully, crossing her arms as her white hair swayed.
"Tsk, how could I forget about these darn evolutions?" she teased. "Even though I just had mine... I always forget yours takes so damn long."
Summer chuckled. "Looks like our gift’s a double-edged sword, huh?"
Katherine joined in on the playful banter, her crimson eyes narrowing with amusement.
"Ugh, just don’t take too long evolving, or we might get impatient."
Aurora rolled her eyes but smiled, leaning against Ellyn.
"Daddy can’t you just skip the evolution... I mean what’s so different now?"
"Honestly, I’m not sure.... I just can feel this evolution will be a bit different from the others." Ash said as he reached high enough.
Rita laughed, nudging her sister.
"At least we get to explore the Prime Expanse first. That should be fun."
Emma stayed quieter, but her eyes were warm as she looked at Ash.
"Well... what about me?" she asked softly, her voice carrying a hint of hesitation but also quiet hope.
Ash turned to her, his reddish-purple eyes softening with a gentle smile.
"Tag along with Rita and the others if you want," he said. "However, you must take up your place as Empress of Velora soon. The longer you take... the harder it will be for the Kingdom to rise."
Though Ash had helped her so far and intended to gift the future empire nine other beings with his aid, that didn’t mean their rise would be free of faults or problems.
After all, Pantheos was always changing, and it was entirely possible for a broken being to come into existence without any interference from Ash whatsoever.
Hearing him, Emma nodded, a small but resolute smile forming on her lips as she accepted his words.
HUMMMM!
Then, in the next moment, Ash was encased in a cocoon of his own.
This one was much larger, much vaster than Raven’s had been — a colossal shell of shifting golden and void-black light that seemed to swallow the surrounding space.
It pulsed with immense power, the air crackling and humming as if the entire void was bending under its weight.
The cocoon expanded, towering above them like a monument of ascension, its surface swirling with complex patterns of light and shadow that felt alive, breathing with the raw essence of the Meta realm.
Seeing this, the women exchanged glances and began to leave one by one, heading toward their own tasks or preparations.
Aurora, Ellyn, Rita, Isis, and the others vanished through soft portals, leaving only Elysia behind.
Elysia smiled softly, vanishing in a swirl of golden light only to reappear inside the cocoon alongside Ash.
---
Ash and Elysia found themselves floating in a pure white void.
It was the same boundless, featureless expanse they had seen before — endless white stretching in every direction, with no horizon, no up or down, no sense of distance or time.
It felt like standing inside the blank page of a story yet to be written.
Before them, the silhouette of the Author appeared once again, standing in front of his white boards, pen in hand as he scribbled notes with focused intensity.
Ash’s eyes narrowed slightly, a faint, intrigued smile forming on his lips as he observed the man who had shaped his entire life.
Elysia floated closer to Ash, her golden eyes calm but watchful as she took in the scene.
The Author stepped away from the white boards, taking a slow, deliberate hit from his joint.
The smoke curled upward in lazy spirals, carrying a faint, herbal scent that lingered oddly in the pure white void.
He exhaled with a long sigh, then made his way to a simple gaming chair that materialized beneath him.
He sat down, leaning back casually, legs crossed.
This time, he was looking directly at Ash and Elysia.
The moment his gaze met theirs, both of them felt it — something vast, incomprehensible, and heavier than anything they had ever experienced.
It wasn’t pressure or fear.
It felt like countless unseen presences had suddenly become aware of them, watching with a calm, knowing curiosity.
The white void seemed to hold its breath, as though reality itself had paused for a moment to acknowledge the encounter.
The Author spoke, his voice calm, casual, and strangely warm — like a message drifting from the future... or perhaps the past.
"Well... welcome, Ash. Elysia," he greeted them, as if they were old acquaintances rather than characters he had created.
"If you’re hearing this little message, then it means you’ve finally transcended the Fifth Wall. Congratulations."
He took another slow drag from the joint, exhaling thoughtfully before continuing.
"Ash... you’re one step closer to making my dream come true.,,,"
".... Being the strongest fictional character to ever be. I’m truly rooting for you, man."
Ash felt something deep within him stir — a mix of validation, amusement, and a strange, quiet resolve.
He remained silent, listening closely, his reddish-purple eyes fixed on the Author.
The Author leaned back in his chair, smiling faintly as he continued.
"You can now connect with the Readers of the Novel by using my account. You’re free to read any comment, any Discord message... everything. I’m leaving it all up to you."
He paused, taking one last hit before the scene began to dissolve around them, the white void fading like ink bleeding off a page.
Before everything disappeared completely, the Author left his final words, his voice carrying a note of genuine anticipation.
"I’m looking forward to the day we finally meet."
