Chapter 37 : Visitor
Chapter 37 : Visitor
VisitorBy the time Cecilia finished collecting her spoils, she checked the time; it was already past 7 PM.
Perhaps because Gu Yanxi had to prepare dinner for two, she had already logged off at this hour, and Yuewu and Dawn's Light were likely still grinding in the arena, aiming for a thousand wins. As long as Cecilia wasn't in the arena, all the players pushed themselves to the limit, each striving to become the first in the world to earn the "Legend" title.
Cecilia originally wanted to log off as well, but after some thought, she realized her equipment hadn't been repaired in a while. Although the durability was still decent, with the official assault on the Sawtooth Demon King Crocodile in the Mutant Jungle set for tomorrow, there was no telling how tough that fight would be.
Just in case, she decided to return to the Main City first and thoroughly repair her equipment from head to toe.
Fifteen minutes later, cloaked by night, Cecilia returned to the Main City and quickly found a blacksmith shop. She spent a few gold coins to fully restore the durability of her Rose Maid set and her advanced Vampire flintlock pistol. Just as she exited, planning to log off at the same spot after opening the game menu, she suddenly saw a priest-clad figure furtively approaching her from a distance.
Gu Yanxi? The thought had just crossed her mind, but Cecilia quickly shook her head in denial.
Although the surrounding light was dim, her keen Vampire night vision allowed her to see that this was a girl with shoulder-length black hair. She seemed a bit shorter and younger than Gu Yanxi, yet she gave off a more mature impression.
Drawing on her experience with people from years in society, Cecilia judged that this girl should be about Yuewu's age, in her twenties.
In summary, this was a legal loli about the same height as her, a bit older, with a baby face.
Cecilia's finger, poised to press the {Exit Game} button, paused. She decided to waste a few more seconds to see what kind of trick this girl was up to.
A few seconds later, the girl approached, her face bearing a modest and reserved smile. She spoke with calm confidence, polite and composed: "Hello, are you Cecilia?"
Though she clearly knew Cecilia's identity, she was totally different from others; she neither showed nervousness nor awe. It was as if she was just visiting an old friend she hadn't seen in years.
She seemed like quite an interesting person.
Cecilia mentally categorized this girl.
She nodded slightly and replied softly, "Hello, can I help you with something?"
Sensing Cecilia wasn't much for small talk, the girl skipped the pleasantries and got straight to the point: "Just to confirm, your secondary class is Forging, right? I have a purple weapon blueprint, and I'd like to sell it to you at a discount—as a gesture of friendship."
Cecilia hadn't planned to engage much, but her interest was immediately piqued at the mention of a purple weapon blueprint, so she continued to ask:
"For which class? Is there a level restriction?"
Seeing Cecilia's interest, the girl didn't hesitate. She took a blueprint from her inventory and handed it over generously: "My secondary class isn't Forging, so I don't really understand these things. Take a look for yourself."
No doubt, this act greatly improved Cecilia's impression of her, especially since she'd shown such sincerity to someone she'd just met for the first time.
Though she'd never met this girl before, being able to obtain a purple epic weapon blueprint within a week of a server launch meant she was no ordinary player—she was likely backed by some major force.
Currently, blue equipment and blueprints were common on the market, but for purple, they were truly rare.
Unfolding the blueprint, the following line appeared before Cecilia's eyes:
[Staff of Frostfire], mage class exclusive, minimum level required: 10, required materials......
A level 10 epic weapon for Mages—Yuewu would definitely be interested.
Handing the blueprint back, Cecilia didn't beat around the bush. "Name your price."
"One thousand."
The girl raised a finger, smiling as she stated her offer.
"One thousand gold coins? Are you sure?"
Cecilia quickly calculated that, with the current in-game exchange rate, one thousand gold coins was about 240,000 RMB. Although it was a lot, compared to the value of an epic equipment, it wasn't sky-high—actually, quite reasonable and affordable.
"No."
The girl shook her head with a smile and corrected, "It's one thousand RMB. How about it—pretty good deal, right?"
Hearing this, Cecilia was stunned for a moment, then slowly frowned.
One thousand RMB, about 4 gold coins—in other words, even if this girl was some wealthy heiress looking to start her own business, it was hard to believe she'd let something worth hundreds of thousands go for just a thousand yuan.
Either she had a screw loose, or she wanted something else from her. Cecilia was more inclined to believe the second possibility.
Sure enough, after a moment, the girl added, "Of course, to ensure this transaction is fair and transparent, I have two additional conditions."
"Go on."
Cecilia kept her expression blank.
"First, I'll provide the blueprint and the materials. You have to craft an epic equipment for me free of charge."
Providing both the blueprint and ready materials, Cecilia would only have to spend a bit of time and effort. Not only could she raise her Smithing level and rack up experience building epic gear, but she'd also pocket a blueprint worth over two hundred thousand. It was an entirely beneficial deal—she could see no reason to refuse.
However, she didn't show much on her face. Instead, she narrowed her eyes, eyebrows raised delicately, and countered, "How do you know I can craft epic equipment?"
"The set you're wearing should be epic equipment, right?" the girl replied without skipping a beat, casting a meaningful glance at Cecilia's maid outfit.
So far, the girl's first condition wasn't excessive—in fact, it was a bargain. Cecilia decided to hear out the last one: "Alright, what's your second condition?"
"You must have heard,"—the girl continued—"that with the next game update, the guild system will be unlocked. My secondary class is [Merchant]. While I know how to make money, I lack the strength to protect my own assets. So, if you establish a guild in the future, my final request is—"
After a pause, the girl locked eyes with Cecilia and spoke earnestly,
"Please let me join your guild."
