Chapter 14 Ibn's Daughter
Chapter 14 Ibn's Daughter
"Boss, what are we afraid of? We've already driven Rahman away. If he comes and doesn't listen to us, we'll take him down." James said with a big laugh. The battle was exhilarating; more than twenty people had taken down over a thousand. If word got out, the Werewolf Mercenary Group would definitely become famous.
Anthony glared at James and said rudely, "This is not your achievement, it's all Lu Chen's plan. With your brains, you couldn't even handle one Rahman."
"Yes, it's all thanks to Lu Chen, okay?" James quickly said with a smile.
Lu Chen and Alex exchanged glances and couldn't help but laugh. Lu Chen said modestly, "This was just an accident, but we have to be careful when dealing with Ibn's men alone. There are only five of us, and we can't afford to lose. We'll have a tough battle soon."
Mike could see that everyone was exhausted, so he waved his hand and said, "After we finish dealing with Eben, we'll split the money, and everyone can rest here."
James seemed to have been waiting impatiently. He put his arm around Anthony's shoulder and said with a smile, "Let's go over there and tell a story."
Anthony shrugged, trying to shake off James's arm, but failed. He glared at James, then followed him.
Mike, Lu Chen, and the other two naturally knew what was going on, so they pretended not to see it.
Mike said to Alex, "Arrange for other security guards to take turns on duty."
He agreed and turned to leave.
Lu Chen and Mike leaned against a big tree. Lu Chen looked down at the village and town, and from his high vantage point, he could see very clearly that the place was in ruins, with broken walls and corpses everywhere, making it look extremely desolate.
Mike hesitated for a moment and said softly, "Chen, have you thought it through? If you stay with the werewolves, you can be the captain and you can share the money." He had been doing this for a long time and originally wanted to pull off a big heist and then retire, but Lu Chen's performance today gave him hope, a hope buried deep in his heart, which was his lifelong ideal.
This surprised Lu Chen. He turned to look at Mike, whose eyes were bright and piercing, carrying an unusual light—a light of hope and future.
"Boss, I've made up my mind. I'm going back to China." Lu Chen hesitated for a moment, then said decisively. The experiences of the past few days were more earth-shattering than anything he had experienced in the past few years. Moreover, he was just an ordinary security guard, and he still wanted to live the life of an ordinary person.
"Okay, good luck," Mike said, patting Lu Chen on the shoulder.
Lu Chen nodded at him. He made his decision and wouldn't change it. He lowered his head and wiped the submachine gun. Maybe after today, he would never be able to touch it again.
Suddenly the ground began to tremble slightly, and the sound grew louder and louder. Lu Chen, Mike, and the others all heard the sound.
Mike quickly made a judgment and said into the walkie-talkie, "Everyone on alert, Anthony, find a favorable position immediately and prepare for fire support."
"Lu Chen, let's go take a look over there," Mike continued, pointing to a high vantage point.
Lu Chen quickly followed, and the two of them lay down under a big tree, taking out binoculars to look in the direction from which the sound came.
"Boss, it should be Ibn's men. Five tanks, a dozen pickup trucks, all equipped with heavy machine guns. There should be around five hundred men," Lu Chen said as he observed.
It's clear that this time the troops and firepower are much stronger, indicating that Ibn values this son quite a bit. Luckily, they were prepared; any later, even half an hour, and escape would have been difficult.
At that moment, a voice came through the walkie-talkie: "Boss, there's a drone."
Lu Chen and Mike were both taken aback and quickly looked up at the sky. Sure enough, five small drones flew over rapidly.
Mike quickly said, "Take cover, take cover." After he finished speaking, he rushed into the weeds on the side.
Lu Chen moved with incredible speed, leaping into the bushes, gripping his submachine gun, and keeping a close eye on the sky, ready to take down the drone at any moment. After all, this thing, armed with a submachine gun, would be quite a formidable assault vehicle.
The drone hovered over the jungle for a few minutes before flying off in another direction.
Lu Chen let out a long breath, emerged from the weeds, and looked towards the main road again. He was startled to see that Iben's army, which had been about ten miles from the town, was now standing at the town's entrance. Their speed was astounding!
Dozens of pickup trucks were lined up neatly, with five tanks bringing up the rear, and a Humvee at the head of the formation was particularly eye-catching.
At this moment, Mike also came to Lu Chen's side and lay down. He looked through the binoculars and couldn't help but exclaim, "Ibn's men are quick enough. I wonder who's leading this time."
"It's a woman." Lu Chen had been observing through binoculars, and when he saw a long-haired woman get out of the Hummer, he said with some surprise.
Despite the distance, he could still see him clearly: an Iraqi local, with an oval face, long hair, wearing a tight-fitting camouflage uniform, a bulletproof vest, and carrying a submachine gun, a military knife, and all sorts of other equipment, looking dashing and heroic. There was an indescribable beauty to it.
"Oh, it really is a woman. Could it be Ibn's eldest daughter, Adile?" Mike said with a surprised look.
Lu Chen turned to look at Mike and said casually, "You know him? He's not your old flame, is he?"
"I know her, but she doesn't know me. There are countless stories about her," Mike said hastily, waving his hand, but with a smile on his face, as if he were talking about something wonderful.
Lu Chen was also very interested in this woman. Women who could go to the battlefield were not simple; they were either intelligent or strong. He didn't know which type this woman belonged to. There was no way around it; male animals were always interested in female animals, and this did not differ because of nationality.
"Adila is Ibn's eldest daughter. She's very beautiful, an excellent marksman, and a former special forces soldier. She killed someone at eight, joined the army at ten, led troops at fifteen, and by twenty, she was one of Ibn's three regimental commanders," Mike said with a smile, his eyes filled with admiration.
Looking at his admiring expression, Lu Chen joked, "Boss, you don't actually have a crush on her, do you? Today's a rare opportunity, why don't you just confess your feelings?"
"I'd rather die than go. Do you know how ruthless she is?" Mike quickly waved his hand and said.
"How ruthless? Would she even kill her own brother?" Lu Chen said with a look of surprise. He really couldn't imagine how ruthless a woman could be, unless she had experienced something unknown, otherwise there was no reason for her to become so ruthless.
Mike glanced around, as if afraid someone would see him, and lowered his voice, saying, "This woman is ruthless. Do you know who she killed when she was eight years old?"
Lu Chen said with a puzzled look, "Alright, stop being so mysterious, just tell me already." As he spoke, he looked in the direction of the town.
