Elder Kinston's Exclusive Sweet Wife

Chapter 1177 - 1216: Denial

Chapter 1177 - 1216: Denial

"No," Mabel Quinn blurted out in denial, even though she had tried hard to calm herself down. However, her stiff voice still betrayed her unease.

Kyle Kinston narrowed his eyes, his gaze burning, "We’ve met." This sentence was no longer a question but a statement.

"How could we have met? I’m just a small-time screenwriter, and you’re a CEO. Besides, I’m in G City, and you’re from Falling City. There’s no way we could have met, right?" Mabel Quinn said.

But the sharpness in his eyes did not decrease, it increased instead. Among the fleeting images in his mind, he was absolutely certain that she was in them, with both images of her smiling and crying. So surely, they had met.

But... why doesn’t he remember? Logically, she was his lifeline, she should have been the most profound presence in his memory.

Even though he had been seriously ill before, Dorian had once told him that due to the illness, it might have affected parts of his memory, leading to some blurriness regarding things that had happened in the past.

He had been ill over in J City, so naturally, his blurry memories mostly involved things that happened in J City. After that, he returned to Falling City for treatment, and once recovered, directly transferred back to Falling City.

He didn’t mind having blurry memories about J City; at least, in his recollection, there was no issue with work-related memories.

So the blurry memories were at most related to J City. Having more or fewer memories about it was insignificant to him.

But now... it didn’t seem to be just that. "I met you in J City, didn’t I?" he asked again.

And as he said this, Mabel Quinn’s face turned deathly pale in an instant. Even without her answer, Kyle Kinston could be sure that he had indeed met her in J City.

But he actually didn’t remember her?! And she, on purpose, acted toward him as if he were a stranger!

Why is this? In an instant, numerous questions flashed through his mind.

"Why are you pretending not to know me?" Kyle Kinston asked.

"I don’t understand what you’re talking about. Mr. Kinston, I’m very tired today, please leave. I want to rest." She bluntly asked him to leave.

But his gaze simply fell on Atlas Shaw standing aside, "Is it because of him?"

"It’s got nothing to do with Atlas!" Mabel Quinn hurriedly said, suddenly moving instinctively to protect Atlas Shaw, but she accidentally tugged the injury on her ankle, causing her to gasp, cold sweat already beading on her forehead.

"Don’t move, you’ll strain your ankle injury..." Atlas Shaw hadn’t finished his sentence when Kyle Kinston already picked Mabel Quinn up horizontally, walked to the living room sofa, and carefully placed her on it. Then he gently rolled up her pant leg to reveal her ankle wrapped in white gauze.

"Your ankle is injured?" He asked, frowning.

"It’s just a minor injury, no need to trouble yourself, Mr. Kinston," she said, her eyes and expression clearly rejecting him.

Rejecting his concern, and rejecting his approach.

His face darkened, suddenly raising his hand to grip her chin, "You better not think of rejecting me. You can’t easily cut ties with me in this lifetime."
